Reacting to the news that the strike at the Ferndale sorting office has ended, Rhondda AM Leanne Wood said: “I am relieved that an agreement has been reached between senior management at the Royal Mail and the workers at the Ferndale sorting office that allows work to resume with immediate effect.

"A decision to withdraw labour is never taken lightly and I understand this action is unprecedented for the dedicated and hardworking staff at the Ferndale office.

“I have been assured that staff will be working to clear the back log of mail that has built up during this dispute and that everything will be back to normal within the next couple of days.”
