Leanne Wood has met with members of a local over 50s forum to discuss local and national matters.
The Assembly Member for the Rhondda spoke at one of the weekly gatherings of the Rhondda 50+ at the OAP Hall in Ystrad.
During the session Leanne fielded a number of questions which covered issues such as transport links, litter, benefits payments and the importance of local services such as the Post Office.
Afterwards Leanne said: “It was good to meet with members of the Rhondda 50+ Forum. They raised a number of important issues which my office will be working on. The session covered a wide variety of topics and the discussions we had about the Rhondda were informative and thought-provoking.”
Leanne added: “I rely on meeting with local people to find out more about what is going on around the Rhondda so sessions like these are invaluable.
“I would like to thank the Rhondda 50+ Forum for their invitation to speak before them and for their warm welcome. If any other group in the Rhondda would like me to meet with them then please get in touch with my office and we will do our best to arrange something.”
