The AM for the Rhondda has visited a local Royal Mail sorting office to show her appreciation of the work postal workers due in the festive period.
Leanne Wood went to the sorting office in Clydach Vale and met with a number of staff working hard to clear the mountain of letters and packages that come into the office over Christmas.
During the visit, Leanne met with the postmen who cover her home in Penygraig and her constituency office in Porth.
After the meeting Leanne said: “It was good to have the opportunity to say ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’ to the dedicated postal workers serving part of the Rhondda. They work hard all year round but the demands upon them around Christmas time are phenomenal.
“I saw first-hand the volume of letters and packages that need to be delivered on a daily basis and it is daunting. It seems that things are busier than ever for postal workers.
“On behalf of everyone that relies on these often unsung workers, I would like to once again say ‘diolch yn fawr iawn.’”
