My house was flooded in February along with most of my neighbours , it has had a devastating effect on all of us and the after effects it’s left us with are worse, we are all terrified it will happen again , we have lost precious possessions we can never get back

Someone needs to get to the bottom of how and why this happened! People shouldn’t be terrified every time it rains

I own two flooded properties in this region which are let to tenants. I aim to provide comfortable, safe residences for them, but their lives have been devastated by the floods this year. It is imperative that an enquiry is underway for their sakes, and for the sakes of the many neighbouring residents who have lost their homes or businesses in a year which has subsequently become monumentally challenging globally. My own needs, although not insubstantial, are barely significant in comparison to those of people more directly affected, such as my tenants, and other residents and businesses in the area. This must not be ignored.

I saw the devastation to my niece’s home in Nantgarw. The people in Pentre have had the flood water in three times in several months. My niece has just about got her home

sorted. It would break her if flood water came in again. Her husband has worked so hard on the house, but it’s all caught up with him now and he is unwell.

I was out there in pontypridd volunteering with clean up and saw how badly prepared councils where to deal with it.
