Give Carers and ALL Care Home Staff the £500 bonus

Mae'r pandemig wedi ein gorfodi i edrych ar ba swyddi yn ein cymdeithas sy'n hanfodol, ac mae'r rhai sy'n gofalu ac yn cefnogi'r rhai mwyaf bregus yn ein cymdeithas yn haeddu cael eu cydnabod am y cyfraniadau anhygoel a wnânt.

This pandemic has forced us to look at which jobs in our society are essential, and those who look after and support the most vulnerable in our society deserve to be recognised for the incredible contributions they make.

Galwn ar Weinidog Iechyd Cymru i sicrhau bod pob gofalwr di-dâl i dderbyn y taliad bonws o £500 a addawyd i ofalwyr cyflogedig.

Galwn ymhellach ar y Senedd i roi taliad cyfartal i'r holl staff sy'n gweithio mewn cartrefi gofal - gan gynnwys glanhawyr a'r staff arlwyo mewn cartrefi gofal sy'n peryglu eu diogelwch eu hunain bob dydd. Maent yn haeddu cael eu trin fel aelodau cyfartal o’r tîm hynny o bobl sy'n rhedeg cartrefi gofal.

Trwy lofnodi’r ddeiseb hon, rydych yn cytuno i Blaid Cymru gofnodi eich barn wleidyddol a’i ddefnyddio at ddibenion ymgyrchu. Gallwch weld ein polisi diogelu data yma.

We call on the Welsh Health Minister to ensure that all unpaid carers receive the £500 bonus payment promised to other carers.

We further call on the Senedd to give an equal payment to all staff who work in a care home setting – including cleaners and the catering staff at care homes who put their own safety at risk every day they go to work. They deserve to be treated as equal members of the team of people who run care homes.

I am a kitchen assistant in a care home with covid residents so i and all my colleagues are put at risk on a daily basis by being in the environment of the home and also by handling plates dishes and cutlery used by the residents the domestics clean the rooms toilets and everything else used by the residents we are all at the same risk as the cares as we are often called upon to cover care shifts even thought we are kitchens and domestic staff so we deserve the payment as much as every other member of our staff. We go home to our families the same as care staff.

My niece works in a care home. She’s been cleaning and working in the kitchen. She doesn’t get it because she’s not on care rate. I think this is shocking and unfair. She has been in close contact everyday, feeding residents, deep cleaning rooms straight after there’s been a death. Helping to guide residents back to their rooms . Totally unfair, every employee working in a CARE home provides care .
