Plaid Cymru Leader Leanne Wood has championed two Rhondda companies after sampling their products at the Royal Welsh show.
The Penygraig-based AM for the Rhondda visited stalls for Cwm Rhondda Ale and Sub Zero ice cream during her trip to large agricultural show at the showground at Llanelwedd, earlier this month.
Ms Wood said: "These two companies are flying the flag for the Rhondda. For me, Wales has some of the best produce in the world. The Royal Welsh Show is one of the major showcases for outstanding food and drink. Competition there is intense. It attracts visitors from all over the world.
"I may be biased, but the produce from Cwm Rhondda Ales and Sub Zero is world-class. Sub Zero have a long tradition of making delicious ice cream and I’m pleased to see that their new parlour in Williamstown on the outskirts of Penygraig is doing well.
"Considering Cwm Rhondda Ales is in its infancy as a company, they have made great strides in what is a thriving and competitive micro-brewing industry. I wish them all the best for their ambitious plans to get to the next stage of development."
Ms Wood added: "It is local businesses like Cwm Rhondda Ales and Sub Zero that put so much back into the community in terms of economic growth and wages. I urge everyone to back their local businesses as much as possible as it really makes a difference to the prosperity of our communities."
